WA Under 8 Chess Championship

Format: 9 round Swiss

Playing Dates: Tuesday 14th July, 9 am - 4:30 pm

Time Control: 15 minutes plus a 2-second increment

Ratings: ACF Quick Rated.

Eligibility: Anyone born in 2012 or later

Recording of the moves: Not required

WA Under 10 Chess Championship

Format: 9 round Swiss

Playing Dates: Monday 14th July, 9 am - 4:30 pm

Time Control: 15 minutes plus a 2-second increment

Ratings: ACF Quick Rated

Eligibility: Anyone born in 2010 or later

Recording of the moves: Not required

WA Under 12 Chess Championship

Format: 9 round Swiss

Playing Dates: Tuesday 14th July and Wednesday 15th July, 9 am to 4:30 pm

Time Control: 30 minutes plus a 3-second increment

Ratings: ACF Quick Rated

Eligibility: Anyone born in 2008 or later.

Recording of the moves: Not required but strongly encouraged

WA Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 Chess Championship

Format: 7 round Swiss

Time Control: 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment

Playing Dates: Monday, 13th July to Wednesday, 15th July 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

If there are enough entries a separate Under 14 tournament will be run

Ratings: ACF Classic Rated

Eligibility: Anyone born in 2006 or later for U14, anyone born in 2004 or later for U16, Anyone born in 2002 or later for U18

Recording of the moves: Required. Once a player's time reaches below 5 minutes, they do not need to record moves any longer

Trophies and titles: will be awarded to best performing male and female player in U14, U16 and U18 divisions

WA Junior Blitz Championship

Format: 11 rounds Swiss

Time Control: 3 minutes plus a 2-second increment

Playing Dates: Tursday 16th July, 1 pm to 4:30 pm

Ratings: ACF Classic Rated

Eligibility: Anyone born in 2002 or later

Recording of the moves: Not required

Trophies and titles: will be awarded to best performing male and female players in U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions
